The village of Gairloch is made up from a number of small settlements, starting with Charleston, where you will find the harbour. Here there are mini cruises and a glass bottomed boat, a gift shop, post office, and the Chemistore (the only shop open on a Sunday). Then on to Strath, where you will find Na Mara restaurant. Here there is also a campsite, Mace and The Millcroft Hotel. After Strath you can carry on up to the Big Sands campsite. Gairloch offers visitors clean sandy beaches, a wonderful golf course with stunning views of the Torridon mountains, fishing, cycling, pony-trekking, an excellent heritage museum, bird watching and of course some of the best walking and climbing in the UK, from a leisurely walk up to the waterfall at Flowerdale to scrambling up a Munro.
